Yesterday, after a leisurely day of putting together the boat, we had a day of sport fishing planned. We'll most people sport fish for fish, but not us, that would be too normal. We bagged a bird!!! Usually one bags a bird while hunting with a shotgun, in a freezing cold field. We did it while trolling for sailfish with live bait. Dave took to the fighting chair, and after a vicious fight, finally boated the offending pelican. John caught a more common species, a barracuda, which the mate told us was a big one, so they convinced him to have it mounted. I caught a small black fin tuna, and the rest of us all caught a couple of barracuda. A great way to kill a day at Race Week. Then at night, we hit the town, and those stories are not for the internet. |
